Celebrate First Friday with Honolulu’s premier Latin and Caribbean party band Espiritu Libre, led by Adela Chu, Hawaii’s irrepressible queen of rhythmic dance grooves. Polish those party shoes and get set to step lively to the beats of salsa, samba, calypso, Latin jazz and more. Come solo or bring your partner. Show your stuff or learn new moves. It’s nothing but a great Latin party and it’s for everyone to enjoy.
Espiritu Libre is fronted by keyboard virtuoso Adela Chu. A one-woman musical force known throughout Hawaii for her vibrant performances of original Afro-Jazz dance and music, Adela Chu hails from Panamanian and Jamaican roots and is widely recognized as the founding force of San Francisco’s annual Carnival.
Also featured in Espiritu Libre are recording artist and Na Hoku nomineeCheryl Bartlett on lead vocals, Matt Moore and Elliot Maker on horns and flute, Kim Duffett and Vitor Caleffi on percussion, Mark Tanouye on bass and sitting in on pandeiro, Maria Helena Diniz from Rio de Janeiro.
Espiritu Libre is presented at Hawaiian Brian’s by Crossroads providing great sound, a full stage lighting show, and a first class dance floor.
Tickets: $10.00 cash at the door, parking is $5 with validation. Go up the parking ramp on the Diamond Head side of 24 Hour Fitness. Crossroad’s entrance is on the second floor.
