Born in Brooklyn, Moon Boots’ musical obsession started not long after he could walk. His early love of piano led to a passion for keyboards and synthesizers. Teenage nights lost in the work of Daft Punk, A Tribe Called Quest and Herbie Hancock followed. Following college Boots moved to the house music epicenter of Chicago, where he tirelessly passed out demos to local DJs and scoured the web for people with whom he could share and expand on his sound. The stars aligned when he had a chance encounter with Perseus, founder of French Express. A fellow junkie and fan of French House and R&B-infused dance music, Perseus became a friend and mentor, the Splinter to Boots’ Donatello. The label eventually disbanded but Boots has stayed true to his mission of making dance tracks that can’t be confined to one style.

After moving back to Brooklyn, Boots signed to UK label Anjunadeep, leading to his debut album First Landing. It’s an album where cavernous club music meshes with classical melodies, warm harmonies, and bright melodic soundscapes riddled with soul.Following the release of success ofFirst Landing, 2018 saw the debut of Moon Boots as a full live band, featuring Pete on keys, synths, and vocoder, Ross Pryce on guitar and bass, Dustin Kaufman on drums, and Black Gatsby, Nic Hanson, Kona, and Eleanor K on vocals. Their inaugural run of shows saw the band sell out shows in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, and they made their big stage debuts at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre and beloved Chicago festival Mamby On TheBeach.

In 2019 Boots’ released his sophomore album Bimini Road, displaying the soulful house music stylings he’s become known for, as well as introducing a bevy of new influences. Inspired by the discovery of the ruins of Atlantis at Bimini in the Bahamas, Boots’ sophomore album is a joyous listen that combines elements of soulful & melodic house, disco, and R&B. Following the album release the band hit the road again, this time crossing the U.S and Canada for their first continent-spanning van tour.

In 2020 Boots released the finely curated Bimini Road Remixed, and also launched his own label imprint Pure Moons with two exciting new volumes of his own sample-based club music. Boots is now hard at work on his untitled third album.
