Fundraiser for Billy
Aloha friends! Nearly a year ago, I learned that a friend of mine, Billy Prette, had been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a cancerous brain tumor which required surgery as part of the treatments for his illness. In addition to surgery, he has received radiation and currently chemotherapy. We all know that having cancer isn’t exactly cheap, which is why I put together a fundraiser event back in October of last year for Billy with the permission of parents (Bill and Winona Prette) to help with some of his medical expenses. And now, I’ve organized a second fundraiser event to continue to help with these expenses.
At only 22 years old, Billy is just one of many cancer patients out there who are fighting for their lives and most of you may not know him. But from a personal standpoint, I can tell you that he’s an outstanding young man who in so many ways has touched the lives of many around him over the years. He is a recent graduate of Kapolei High School and is currently majoring in electrical engineering at the University of Hawaii. When he is not caring for his older brother Mikey, who has cerebral palsy, he enjoys playing on-line video games, working out at the gym with his friends, or just hanging out with his friends and family.
Doors open at 5PM and entertainment is live from 6PM until midnight. Parking is $5 flat rate for this event with validation (up to 6 hours). Admission is $15 per person between 5PM and 8PM and $20 per person from 8PM until midnight. Cover charges do not include food or drinks but can be purchased for a reasonable price inside the venue. Hawaiian Brian’s was kind enough to donate use of the Crossroads to hold the event and will also donate $1 for every food purchase made from anyone supporting this cause. Neither myself nor of any of the entertainers participating in ROCK DA ROCK SPECIAL EDITION: A FUNDRAISER FOR BILLY will be receiving any compensation for our performances and all proceeds will go towards Billy Prette’s cancer treatments. Please join the cause and support Billy and his family by attending this fundraiser event to help with his medical expenses while he is receiving treatments for his illness. Big thank you in advance and lots of love always!
