Crossroads
The pseudonym for Miami-born, L.A.-based artist Andrew Berman, Madeaux has developed a reputation in the electronic community for his ever-evolving and uncompromising innovation. Madeaux has been featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra, Ministry of Sound, Billboard as “Top Artists to watch in 2016” and a plethora of other major publications. The success of “Love the Machine” EP garnered the support of several notable artists including Salva, Wave Racer, Ryan Hemsworth, and A-Trak leading to the subsequent signing of the New Wav EP to Fool’s Gold Records. “New Wave” brought together influences from Miami bass, left-field trap music while wrapped up in effervescent production, and toped off with vocals that were largely inspired by R&B artists from decades past such as Aaliyah and Ashanti. Madeaux explains, “It’s so much more than EDM—it’s an anthology of style with an ultramodern paint job rendered in 1080p.” Madeaux has had a string of successful releases on Fool’s Gold Records, CR2, Record Record, Mau5trap, Dim Mak Records and a forthcoming collaborative EP with rising rapper Manman Savage. Madeaux’s debut album Burn, out January 19, has been two years in the making and is viewed by the LA-based producer as a “self-actualization instruction manual”: a transformational journey of striving to make timeless music in “an era where everyone likes, follows and views everything, yet values nothing.” The 12-track LP is a journey into Madeaux’s varied influences and interests melding muscular, bass-driven riffs and heady electronics with twisted collaborations from a host of guest artists including WILLS, Poter Elvinger, Zuse, Tommy Lee Sparta, OG Maco, Josh Pan, Fifi Ron and Holly.
